Mascara Colors: Choosing the Right One for You

Wearing the right mascara color depends on the occasion and impression you want to convey to others. Basically, there are mascaras in black, brown, blue, purple and more. There are huge varieties of mascara colors in bold and glittery effects for a more fascinating look.

Hair Color

For casual or day-to-day basis of wearing mascara you can wear a color that matches your hair. Dark hair goes perfectly with black mascaras giving the eyes broad definition while brown mascara looks very natural on fairly haired women. However, be cautious in using other colors especially if you are attending formal parties. Glittery and fanciful mascaras can be worn on informal occasions like going to the bar with friends or just going out to the mall creating a distinct look.

Occasion

For any normal day make your mascara lighter. You can make it fuller at night by applying some extra coats for a dramatic effect. If you want a look that is very impressive there are mascaras in the market which come in base and highlighting compact. Basecoats give your lashes extra length and protection while the highlighting coats define the lashes. Highlighting coats are usually shimmery making your eyes beautiful without going overloaded.

Skin Complexion

Another thing to consider aside from the occasion and hair color is the complexion of your skin. If you want to try out mascara colors other than the common black and brown try to identify first your skin color. If you have fair to yellowish complexion you can try on warm mascara colors and if you belong in the darker side cool colors will be very appealing.

These are just suggestions and based on the color coordination. However, the best tip will be to try experimenting with different mascara colors and have your friends comment on a particular look. Wearing make-up is more of a fashion statement though rather than an accessory. Like the color, finding the brand that works well with you is also a continuous search as more new mascara products are being introduced in the market.
