The Truth About Low-Carb and High-Protein Diets

In order to be fit, most weight loss programs require a diet which is low in carbohydrates and high in protein. Carbohydrates are energy sources and if not used up by the body they are stored as fat. This is where the concept of such high-protein diet regimen started. Read on and your view of these high-protein diets will extremely change.

Cancer, skin diseases and leukemia are diseases which can be aggravated through excessive intake of protein according to Dr. Albert Mosseri, a French Hygienist. Moreover, in the work of John Robbins called Diet for a New America shows that that ratio of the number of patients suffering from excessive amount of protein to those with protein deficiency is 3:40,000,000. With these facts we have been misinformed then by these high-protein diets claiming to be effective in losing weight. These high-protein diets include the Atkins diet where patients under this program are later reported to get sick.

On the other hand, low-carbohydrate diet isn’t that detrimental compared to high-protein diet. In fact, a research study has been conducted on the native tribes residing at the Mountain of Hagen to prove that protein needs of the body isn’t that great compared to carbohydrates. The natives daily intake of protein is about 9.92 grams (with 80% of their diet are mainly sweet potatoes) and their fecal wastes have proteins 15 times greater than their protein intake. This shows that protein are synthesize in the body through the air we breathe in. Natural protein is mainly composed of N (nitrogen), C (carbon), H (hydrogen) and some O (oxygen). It is a fact then that we mainly get our source of oxygen and hydrogen from air and the nitrogen in our body is transformed into protein. This accounts for the research result in the natives of Mount Hagen.

  2. And, could the protein be the bodily remains of the expelled gut bacteria that comprise the majority of the stool, perchance and not some miraculous means, not yet discovered? DOH.
