The Benefits of Vegetarianism for a Healthier and Longer Life

Healthy eating has always been a problem to many people due to modern lifestyle. Junk and rich in fat foods are everywhere. Sorting to these kids of foods could result to health problems such as obesity and heart attacks. As usual you can grow bigger in no time with your unhealthy lifestyles but in agony of trying to reduce weight the moment you experience the effects of your unhealthy eating. Before it’s too late try to consider the things below.


Fruits and vegetables naturally contain ascorbic acid known to boost resistance and fight against bacteria. On the other hand, meat, especially if not cooked well carries parasites, bacteria and viruses which can cause illnesses and infections.

Patients suffering from gout are advised by doctors to refrain from eating meat and other processed foods to relieve them from pain. Another Russian specialist, Dr. Buteyko, is recommending his asthmatic patients to stay away from meat and raw foods which are great factors in aggravating their asthma.

Meat is an excellent source of protein but doesn’t contain calcium, vitamins and minerals which are growth enhancing factors. In fact, medical studies as presented by Walepole and Farger in their Pathology and Physiology journals show the presence of toxic substances in meat which may cause high BP. Thus, doctors are engaging their patients with high BP in a strict no-meat diet.

However, if you are non-vegetarian and cannot avoid eating meat try to eat in small amounts and in moderation. Try to combine meat with green leafy vegetables as much as possible. Choose vegetables with less starch content and include it in your daily diet. Even weight loss problems are easily handled if you include fruits and vegetables t in your healthy diet. Vegetables and fruits are great substitutes for meat, too. They contain fibers with aids in proper digestion and waste elimination processes in our body.

  1. Junk foods are unhealthy, but we can't resist the lure. But if we love our body, the tips you give are just the best one can follow. Yes, no one can't question the benefits of fruits and vegetables over red meat in particular. If we adopt healthy living, we will enjoy life free from burdens of health cost.

    I never let a day pass that I don't have fruits and veggies for my meals. At present, I'm in love with juicing them. I love this.
